The VU+ SOLO² receiver features a 1300 MHz MIPS processor, 1 GB of DDR3 RAM, and 256 MB of flash memory. It is marketed as a twin satellite receiver with two DVB-S2 tuners, enabling simultaneous recording and playback. Built on a Linux operating system – using typical images like Enigma 2 – the SOLO² also offers a web browser, HbbTV, and AirPlay streaming.

The SOLO² impresses with its connectivity options, including Gigabit LAN, an HDMI 1.4 output, three USB 2.0 ports (one on the front, two on the back), an optical S/PDIF output, and analog RCA outputs. A standout feature is the plug-and-play bracket for a 2.5" SATA hard drive or SSD, allowing the receiver to be easily used as a PVR solution. The external power supply also ensures that the device itself generates less heat, thus extending its lifespan.
